Bhagwat Gita 3.35: It is far better to perform one’s natural prescribed duty, though tinged with faults than to perform another’s prescribed duty, though perfectly. In fact, it is preferable to die in the discharge of one’s duty than to follow the path of another, which is fraught with danger.
Doing Paradharma is like living a life of the chicken inside a cage fed with expensive and rich food. It doesn’t matter even, if the cage is made up of Gold and studded with Precious stones, it is still considered as a bondage. Swadharma, on the other hand, is like living the life of the pigeons in the open, happy with trifle amount of grains. They are free from all kinds of bondage.
